   H.P.S.

Marilyn Steward

I have enjoyed photography for many years.  It is a fascinating hobby with so many avenues to follow.  There is always something new to learn.  I have had a camera since I was 13 years old – a very basic Halina with an integral light-meter.  When I was 18 my father gave me his old Agfa Solinette bellows camera and my uncle gave me his Gossen light-meter.  It was certainly a good way to learn photography – with an auto-nothing camera.  I now use a digital SLR with auto-everything and have the choice to use or not to use auto.  Since joining a camera club in 1996 I know my photography has improved.  I would definitely recommend joining a camera club.  I also judge and lecture to local clubs in the East Anglian area.
